What You'll Do:
Construction Coordinator
Coordinate work activities of others within work group, team or those external to the company including contractors and vendors as required to resolve routine technical tasks and field work activities.
Perform varied assignments demonstrating technical knowledge and analytical techniques to solve problems or analysis.
Participate in the planning and organization of outage/project work activities.
Make decisions and contribute to team decision making and consensus building.
Monitor labor relation activities; develop and maintain rapport to assure cooperation and productive working relationships with contractors.
Work with others in both supplying information and seeking assistance as necessary.
Provide training and guidance to lower-level employees as appropriate.
Pursue effective ways to protect and enhance the environment while providing reliable electricity at a competitive cost.
Construction Coordinator Senior
Coordinates work activities of others within the work group, team or those located externally to AEP including contractors, vendors as required to resolve routine technical tasks and field work activities.
Demonstrates working knowledge of appropriate policies, procedures and guidelines. Monitor Work and Asset Management to ensure that work is performed in accordance with established policies, procedures and guidelines.
Demonstrates ability to work beyond routine assignments by solving moderately complex problems. Works independently in resolving complex problems.
Participates in providing training, performance improvements for projects and activities of lower-level employees or peers.
Develops and maintains rapport to assure cooperation and productive working relationships with customers.
Demonstrates the ability to work beyond routine assignments by solving problems of moderate complexity.
Effectively manages conflict and builds consensus for agreement concerning business and/or work issues.
Clearly and concisely develops and presents or reviews reports with customers as needed.
Initiates, leads and facilitates meetings effectively.
Provides input to routine project planning and schedule. Understands the use of scheduling techniques for budget and planning activities. Assist in the planning of outages/projects/assignments.
Participates in AEP and associated contractor's meetings covering outage/project schedule, safety issues and operations and maintenance of equipment.
Assists in evaluating contracting methods, reviewing drawings and preparing basic cost estimates using established standards.
Monitors work according to schedule and recommend necessary actions.
Construction Coordinator Principal
Makes technical decisions based on calculated risks without management review.
Identifies, resolves and initiates solutions to highly complex problems that are unique to AEP and the electric utility industry and that also require specialized knowledge of equipment and/or problem-solving techniques.
Develops, recommends and implements plans that include all scheduling, resource and cost information and control required to address complex problems that require input and efforts of a wide array of entities both internal and external to AEP.
Leads organizational unit activities in specific areas of plant, region, or outage/project work activities.
Leads project development activities related to specific, unique, and/or highly specialized areas.
Leads, facilitates and coordinates work activities of others within the work group, team or those located externally to AEP and assumes the role of a project or function manager for assigned tasks.
Partner with employees and management in identifying and analyzing business, performance and learning needs, problems or expectations.
What We're Looking For:
Construction Coordinator
Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited university or college; OR
Associate's technical degree and 3 years of experience in design, operations, planning, construction, or maintenance of systems and/or equipment; OR
High school diploma or GED and 5 years of experience in design, operations, planning, construction, or maintenance of systems and/or equipment.
Typically requires a minimum of 3 years of experience in work activities and projects requiring technical knowledge.
Construction Coordinator Senior
Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited university or college; OR
Associate's technical degree and 6 years of experience in design, operations, planning, construction, or maintenance of systems and/or equipment; OR
High school diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in design, operations, planning, construction, or maintenance of systems and/or equipment.
Typically requires a minimum of 6 years of experience in work activities and projects requiring technical knowledge.
Construction Coordinator Principal
Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited university or college; OR an
Associate's technical degree and 10 years of experience in design, operations, planning, construction, or maintenance of systems and/or equipment; OR a
High school diploma or GED and 12 years of experience in the design, operations, planning, construction, or maintenance of systems and/or equipment.
Typically requires 10 or more years of experience in work activities and projects requiring technical knowledge.
Must possess a professional or trade certification such as a CCMP, CETa, IQCP, PMP, or equivalent prior to progression into this level.
Construction Coordinator-Construction Coordinator Principal
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Must be available to work overtime, call out overtime and shift work, as required. Travel requirements are expected > 50 % of the time Physical demand level is Sedentary
Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Listen and identify customer needs/wants.
Effectively communicate with team, management, customers, contractors, vendors and regulatory agencies.
Knowledge of AEP's general terms and conditions and the experience and ability to correctly interpret and administer contracts. Apply problem solving skills to resolve technical problems and initiate solution techniques.
Demonstrate an attitude and desire to listen to and satisfy both internal and external customers who use and depend upon our work.
Position requires working outside in all @types of weather and exposure to hazardous materials.
Position may require extended hours to accomplish assigned tasks and meet project/outage requirements and schedules.
Extensive travel required and possible relocation.

Compensation Range:
$74,551.00 - $151,132.50
